HAD Football Athlete Georgie Brisbane has been drafted by Fremantle at Pick 14 in the 2024 AFLW National Draft.
A 175cm forward who can also play on the wing, Georgie vice-captained and then captained the Eastern Ranges in back-to-back Coates Talent League Girls grand finals. She kicked 21 goals over two Talent League seasons, and five goals for Vic Metro against the Allies. Fremantle highlighted her outstanding aerial ability, athleticism and work rate.
Georgie came through Kilsyth, Blackburn and North Ringwood before her Talent League years. With HAD Football, it was the little things that added up: access to a dietitian, a recovery coach, and small steps that made her week more professional. By draft day, she was ready to walk into an AFLW program. In her words: "HAD played a massive role in me getting drafted."
For her dad Nick, HAD took the pressure off. The football conversations happened with Brad and the HAD team, so the family could focus on being Georgie's parents.
Georgie now coaches with HAD Football in Western Australia, leading our Fremantle female-only hub.
Congratulations, Georgie.
